What Is Pure Gold?
When you hold a piece of gold in your hand—especially one shaped by the hands of an artisan—you’re holding not just a metal, but a story that spans centuries. Gold has always had a deep spiritual and emotional resonance. At ZadokGold, it’s more than just a material. It’s alive. It listens, it breathes, it remembers.
The Essence of Gold
Gold in its purest form is known as 24 karat gold. It’s elemental. Untouched by other metals, 24K gold is about 99.9% gold. It carries a warm, deep, almost sun-like glow—a hue so rich it feels sacred. And in a way, it is. For thousands of years, gold has been used in rituals, offerings, temples, and talismans. It symbolizes light, purity, and divine connection.
Why Not Use 24K Gold for Everything?
As radiant and spiritual as pure gold is, it is also soft—too soft for most wearable jewelry. It bends easily, scratches quickly, and doesn’t hold its shape under the stress of everyday life. That’s why jewelers, even ancient ones, began to blend gold with other metals to give it strength and structure.
This is how we get 22K, 18K, or 14K gold—each number reflecting how much actual gold is in the alloy:
- 22K gold is about 91.6% pure.
- 18K gold is 75% pure.
- 14K gold is 58.3% pure.
The ZadokGold Choice
At ZadokGold, we work with 14K, 18K, and 22K gold—each chosen carefully for its balance of strength, beauty, and spiritual energy. My personal favorite is 22K. It still holds the soul of gold. It is soft, yes. But beautifully so. It changes with you. It wears down in places, deepens in color, and becomes more you over time. Like a well-worn book or a beloved prayer shawl, 22K gold tells a story—the story of your life, your journey.
Spiritual Alchemy
Gold in its essence is about more than adornment. It is transformation made visible. Just like the ancient talismans crafted by my ancestors—gold has always been used as a vessel for meaning, for protection, for healing. When I design with gold, I don’t see it as raw material. I see it as a partner in the creative and spiritual process. A companion on the journey.
So what is pure gold?
It’s more than a percentage. It is a memory of the earth’s fire. It is softness and strength intertwined. It is the eternal calling out to the present moment.
And when you wear gold—especially gold crafted with intention—you are not just wearing something beautiful. You are carrying a piece of time. A whisper of the ancient. A talisman for your own unfolding.
